Diocesan Appeal (Bishop's Appeal)
This year’s annual Diocesan Campaign, formerly called the Bishop’s Appeal, has begun again. We have in outright gifts and pledges a total of $200,000 toward our goal of $217,000. We are currently wrapping up our effort on behalf of the diocese. I’m hoping St. Edward’s can once again count on your support. If you have not yet made a contribution I would ask that, if you are in a position to do so, that you make a donation to this 2021-2022 appeal which ends on June 30, 2022. The campaign is for the diocesan budget year July 1 2021 – June 30, 2022.
As you know, this annual appeal gives Bishop Scharfenberger the financial means to continue to shepherd and serve the needs of his people throughout the Diocese of Albany. This year, the needs are greater than ever. With continued cutbacks in government funding, the Church is called upon more and more to fill in the gaps. Bishop Scharfenberger can only do what we allow him to do. In the long run, it’s more than just being generous. It’s what faith communities are all about. St. Edward’s has been blessed over the years and we are asked once a year to share part of those blessings through the Bishop’s Appeal.
If you could respond, we would not only meet our diocesan goal. but, more importantly, give Bishop Scharfenberger the ability to care for those most in need. I am aware of the possibility that for many of you, giving any amount at this time might be difficult. If that is the case I ask only for your continued blessings on the work of the diocese throughout the coming year. For those who are in a position to make a financial contribution, please review the Appeal material listed below.
In my name and in the name of Bishop Scharfenberger, I thank you and ask that the Lord continue to bless you and those you love.

Sincerely,
Fr. Patrick J. Butler
