The K of C are partnering with Hoffman Car Wash to raise funds assist the various programs and charities supported by St. Edward’s Knights of Columbus Council 11064 including but not limited to Faith Formation, church ministries, Scouting, Ronald McDonald House, CAPTAIN, candidates for the Priesthood, Regional Food Bank, Our House, YMCA, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Provide, Shen Dollars for Scholars, Auriesville Shrine, Sisters of St. Joseph, etc.

To purchase tickets, please visit www.hoffmancarwash.com, on the top right, click Fundraisers, then search for Knights of Columbus, and the St. Ed’s event will appear. The fundraiser is ongoing through October 31st. 50% of every dollar will come back to the council for their charitable work. We greatly appreciate your support!

Knights Of Columbus Membership Weekend

November 14th & 15th

The Knights of Columbus Council 11064 at St. Edward the Confessor is holding a membership weekend on 11/14 and 11/15. We are a fraternal organization for adult Catholic men that is currently 194 members strong and growing. The K of C provides charitable service and support; works for the improvement of the parish and community; and provides support for members and their families.


If you are a practicing Catholic man 18 or older and would like to join a brotherhood in support of these goals, we would love to have you join our “band of brothers.” Members are not obligated to commit to all meetings or activities. We will be in the atrium to sign you up and/or gladly answer any questions after masses on 11/14 and 11/15. You can also email the Grand Knight at maharkofc@gmail.com.

Christmas Gifts For The Elderly

We will be holding our annual Christmas Gifts for those in need, residing in Saratoga County.  Our Sign-up will be at each Mass the weekend of Oct. 31st -Nov. 1st. These gifts are distributed to several agencies to help lift those who are truly alone this holiday season.

Please return unwrapped gifts no later then Sunday, Nov. 15th

Our wrapping party will be Thursday, Nov. 19th at 9:30 am in the Social Hall.

Healing is a journey that involves the mind, body, and spirit. If you are experiencing mental health challenges, we invite you to attend Companions in Hope, a spiritual support group hosted by our Mental Health Ministry. Our facilitators are here to walk with you—offering a safe, confidential space for community, prayer, education, and mutual support. Together, we will reflect on our relationship with God and find strength in shared hope. The first meeting will be Tuesday, October 27th, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM in St. Edward’s Chapel, and the topic of discussion will be coping with depression. Future meetings will take place on the 4th Tuesday of every month (except December 2026).

St. Ed's Behavioral Mental Health Ministry is sponsoring a monthly support group for family and friends who are helping loved ones navigate through mental health challenges. The support group facilitator is Kevin Moran, a psychiatric social worker with over 25 years of experience in mental health care. The support group will be held on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm in the social hall. Please mark your calendars for the following 2026 dates: 11/12 & 12/10. All information shared by participants at the support group is confidential.

Memorial Service for the Deceased Memorial Service for the Deceased: Please join us on Monday, November 2nd at 6:30 PM in the Church for an Evening of Remembrance. If you have experienced the death of a family member since last October and their cross was placed on the wall, the cross will be returned to you during the service. A Great Day on the Bocce Courts! St. Edward’s annual Bocce Tournament was a wonderful afternoon of fun, and friendly competition! Parishioners gathered on October 4 to enjoy the beautiful fall weather, cheer on the teams, and enjoy some good-natured competition on the courts. Our priests walk with us through life’s most joyful moments and most difficult days. They celebrate with us, pray with us, guide us, forgive us, encourage us, and bring us closer to Christ through the Sacraments. Their vocation is one of love, sacrifice, and service. Today, we especially thank Fr. Dan, Fr. Jim and Fr. Pat for their faithful “yes” to God and for all that they does for our St. Edward’s and St. Mary’s families. May God continue to bless him, strengthen him, and fill his heart with joy as he shepherds His people. Let us also remember all priests in our prayers today. ? “I will give you shepherds after my own heart.” — Jeremiah 3:15 ? Lord, bless our priests and all those discerning a call to the priesthood. Give them courage, wisdom, strength, and a heart that always reflects Your love. Amen.

Exercise & Walking Groups The St. Edward’s Parish Wellness Team sponsors Walking & Exercise groups for parishioners of St. Edward’s and St. Mary’s churches. All levels of fitness are welcome! Work at your own pace & toward your personal goals. For more information or to be added to the weekly email list, please email Becky at crowbeckpn@gmail.com Mondays: Outdoor Walking Group – for those interested in walking outdoors year-round, weather permitting. Meets in the morning hours. Time varies according to the season, and location changes weekly at venues near the Clifton Park area. Tuesdays: Exercise Time is held at St. Edward’s Church at 10am-10:30am in the Social Hall. Led by Pamela Yunginger, a physical therapist & St. Edward’s parishioner. Tuesday Walking Group is also held at St. Edward’s Church. This group walks indoors during the colder seasons & outdoors during the warmer seasons. All walking for this group is done at the premises of St. Edward’s Church. This walking group meets right after Exercise Time, at 10:35am, outside the chapel. ??Congratulations to Deacon Rit on his induction into the Schenectady City Schools Athletic Hall of Fame! ?? Richard “Rit” DiCaprio was inducted into the Schenectady City Schools Athletic Hall Of Fame on Monday, September 14, 2026. This event will be held at the Event Center at Rivers Casino & Resort in Schenectady. DiCaprio played four years of varsity football at Mont Pleasant High School. His 1967 team was undefeated and ranked #1 in New York. His four Mont Pleasant teams won three Class “A” League championships. He was a three-time All-County selection. He also wrestled and was a shot putter and discus thrower. DiCaprio later played football at the University of Maryland where he earned two varsity letters (freshmen were ineligible to play varsity and he was injured as a sophomore). He was a defensive end and played on special teams. Future NFL standout and Football Hall of Famer Randy White was a teammate. As a junior, Maryland finished 8-4 (5-1 in the ACC) and was ranked 20th in the nation. Maryland lost to Georgia (17-16) in the Peach Bowl. The following year (1974) Maryland won the Atlantic Coast Conference title (6-0 conference record). Maryland finished 8-4 and was ranked 13th in the nation. Losses were to Alabama (21-16), Penn State (24-17), Florida (17-10) and Tennessee (7-3, in the Liberty Bowl). Maryland outscored its opponents 316-104 and shut out five opponents in 1974. DiCaprio later played semi-pro football for the Metro Mallers. He was also an assistant football coach at Schenectady HS from 1991 to 1999. He is a Capital Region Football Hall of Fame member.

The Knights of Columbus Present: A NOVICE PILGRIM IN SPAIN Walking the Camino de Santiago is both a cultural immersion and a sacred journey. Join John Mahar on Monday, September 21st, 7:00 pm at St. Edward’s as he shares his experience as a first-time pilgrim on Spain’s most traveled route, the Camino Francés. Throughout the evening, John will reflect on the physical demands of the trail, the unexpected spiritual moments, the striking beauty of the Spanish countryside, and the determination required to reach Santiago de Compostela. John Mahar is a retired civil servant and current Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 11064. In addition to their volunteer work, John and his wife love walking, hiking, and camping, and have seen most of the 50 states. John also enjoys backpacking with a friend through remote New York trails. He just completed his first Camino in June 2026.

?️? Scouting Adventure! ??️ This past weekend, St. Edward’s Scout Troop 4062 enjoyed a weekend of camping and canoeing on Scout Island! The Scouts put their skills to work as they set up camp right along the water and enjoyed time outdoors together. What a great opportunity to build confidence, teamwork, leadership, and lifelong memories! We’re proud of our Scouts and all they continue to learn and accomplish. ?? St. Edward's/St. Mary’s Mental Health Ministry is sponsoring a monthly support group for family and friends who are helping a loved one navigate through mental health challenges. The support group is held on the second Thursday of each month 6:30pm-8pm at St. Edward’s Church. For the month of September, our group facilitator will be Edmund Burke, a psychologist with over 30 years of experience in mental health care. PLEASE NOTE: For the month of September 2026, the support group will be held in St. Edward’s Chapel. Our next meeting date: September 10th at 6:30pm. All information shared by participants at the support group is Confidential.

Sometimes the most beautiful moments at Mass come in the simplest ways. ❤️ A child’s innocent “Hi, Jesus!” is a beautiful reminder that faith doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes, it’s simply recognizing that Jesus is truly present and responding with the joy and love of a child. All children are welcome here!! “Let the little children come to me.” — Matthew 19:14 ?✝️

Thank you for helping us put our faith into action and for reminding our community that we are stronger when we care for one another.
