Their willingness to serve reflects a shared commitment to the mission and future of our parish community. The individuals listed below bring a range of experiences, perspectives, and gifts that will help guide thoughtful planning and decision making in the years ahead. We invite you to review the candidates prayerfully as you prepare to participate in the election process the weekend of July 11/12.

Joe Galuppi

My name is Joe Galluppi, and for the past 20 years, my wife Debbie and I have been proud parishioners of St. Edward the Confessor. As residents of Clifton Park for 29 years, we have raised three sons here and are now blessed with four grandchildren.

Professional Background

My career spans over 45 years with General Electric (now GE- Vernova), where I have held numerous management roles across the Energy, Transportation, and Nuclear industries. Through my work negotiating complex contracts, I have developed a strong foundation in financial management and business acumen. I hold a BS in Business from Syracuse University, a Master’s Degree from the University Center at Binghamton, and have completed the General Electric Financial Management Program.

Commitment to Service

I continue to strive to make my faith central to my life, and I am currently dedicated to a deeper study of God’s Word. I believe the "Golden Rule" and the command to serve others are the true foundations of Christian life as exemplified by the examples of the Good Samaritan and the early apostles, I am active in the Knights of Columbus (3rd Degree in Council 11064 and 4th Degree Color Corps) in Assembly 702 here at St Eds. I am honored to serve our community and our veterans, and I have recently begun volunteering at "Our House", with Nora and Eileen Day, who show the true meaning of serving and helping others. I feel truly blessed to support and help those born with disabilities.

My Goal for the Council

My goal for serving on the Parish Pastoral Council is rooted in the deep love Debbie and I have for the St. Edward’s community and the many friendships we’ve formed here—our Church Family. It would be an honor to contribute to the Council by helping our parish identify and act on its needs, strengthen coordination with St. Mary’s, and support the efforts that unite our faith communities. I am committed to fostering a vibrant parish life, especially for our young families, and to supporting our shared mission to welcome, teach, and encourage disciples of Jesus Christ. I look forward to the opportunity to give back to the Church Family that has given so much to us.

Theron Perna

My name is Theron Perna, and I am currently a lector at the 4:00 PM Mass. I am writing to express my interest in becoming more involved as a member of the Parish Council. Please accept this email as my biography for the upcoming election.

I have been a parishioner at St. Edward’s since the early 2000s. Now that my children have graduated from college, I have the time and desire to become more deeply engaged with the Church, similar to my experience serving as a sacristan at Our Lady of Lourdes while growing up.

Professional and Personal Background:

- Education: Graduate of Union College, Class of 1992.
- Professional Experience: After coaching college football from 1993 to 1999, I transitioned to the insurance industry. I have held various leadership roles since becoming a Claims Leader in 2003.
- Community Involvement: I continue to serve as the linebackers coach at Union College.

My faith is very important to me, and I am passionate about ensuring others have the opportunity to know Christ. I sincerely hope to serve our community in this new capacity.
