Welcome to St. Edward's Family Program

Sue Carbone, 6 - 10th Grade Coordinator
“On your part, you must make it your constant care to bring them up in the practice of your faith.” (Rite of Baptism for Children)
Parents are the primary teachers of our faith. We ask that you share your faith with your children, sharing both your spiritual and prayer lives with them. Families are encouraged to attend Mass weekly. Please pray with your children. When they enter Pre-K/Kindergarten children should be familiar with the Sign of the Cross and should be working on the Our Father, Hail Mary, and the Glory Be. All grade levels will practice these prayers during class. The Apostles’ Creed will be introduced in third grade.
This program was developed for families who would like to enrich their faith in a family context. It is meant for the entire family (regardless of age) to grow in their faith together.
This program is offered on Sundays. The group will meet on the first Sunday of the Month running from October through April. Participants will attend the 9:00 AM Family Mass followed by a class in the Social Hall from 10:15 - 11:00 AM. Families will attend an Advent Reconciliation Service and complete a family service project.
Our volunteer catechists invest their time, energy, and faith to prepare for each week. While attendance each week is strongly encouraged, we recognize that life can be complicated. If you cannot attend, please contact the Faith Formation staff prior to class.
Please note that if you have a child preparing for 1st Eucharist they have the option of participating in either this program or the Sacramental Preparation Program. For more information please contact Noreen Hayden at (518) 371-7372 x233.
