Confirmation Information
2006-2007 
RETREAT CONFIRMATION SERVICES                 
        Choose one of the two dates either, October 24th or October 25th  from 4:00-8:00pm in the Social Hall.
         Please arrive promptly.        The first one will be included in the retreat.

Monday, November 13th or Tuesday, November 14th
  Monday, January 22nd or Tuesday, January 23rd
  Monday, February 26th or Tuesday, February 27th

All Services take place in the  Chapel at 7:00pm.

Candidates must attend one of each of the services in November, January, and February, for a total of three in addition to the retreat.

   Parents and sponsors (if possible) are invited and encouraged to attend the services.    Parents and candidates are invited to come at 6:30 for refreshments and socializing with members of the community.
CONFIRMATION    There is a Confirmation Mass on December 2nd at the 4:30 liturgy.

MASS                         All confirmation candidates are encouraged to attend and participate. Ushers, readers, greeters and gift bearers will be needed.  

ENROLLMENT  CEREMONY        January 27th at the 4:30pm liturgy
                                              January 28th at the 9:00am and 10:30am liturgy

                                                      Candidates choose one mass to attend.
                                                      Candidates are again encouraged to participate in the liturgy.

This is when candidates accept Jesus and his teachings and pray that they with go forth and serve him in the world.

REHEARSAL                  Tuesday,  APRIL 3, 2007 @  7:00PM

CONFIRMATION  DATE        Tuesday, APRIL 17, 2007 @  6:00PM


INTERVIEW             Interviews will be held in February or March at St. Edward’s. The purpose of the interview is to allow the candidate to share their thoughts concerning where each person sees their relationship with Jesus, the Church, and service on behalf of other's needs. The  interview allows the candidate to make their own decisions about preparing for the sacrament of Confirmation.

SERVICE                   Service is not required to be confirmed, but keep in mind that if the Spirit of God is truly to reflect itself through the way we live our lives, then we need to be involved in services to others.

PAPERWORK           All paperwork is due by December 1st.

                                    Please turn it into the Youth Ministry Office.

Sponsor sheets must be taken to the sponsor’s parish and signed by their priest. Sponsors that are St. Edward's members don't need to have the form signed by a priest.

Baptismal Certificate: We need a copy to verify that the candidate was baptized.  We are asking that even if you turned one in at First Eucharist you turn in another copy.

Confirmation Name Sheet:     Candidates are encouraged to choose a name of a saint or someone who has been a positive influence in their lives. If they don’t choose one their Baptismal name will be used.
