of Reflection: Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception December 8, 2007 reflection by Margaret Bryant
Immaculate Conception----God prepares Mary for her unique Mission by creating her soul in flawless purity!
We journey constantly on the road to many Bethlehems. Mary leads. She left an echo of "Yes" to show us the way. Silently, No hum of commerce or trade drowning the grace-filled moments of the journey. Mary sang the new song—"Yes" In stillness Making room for God's whispers Mary hears: Be not afraid; you have found favor with God.
So often we are confused and frightened. God's voice is dimmed in the shouts of our anxiety.
As Mary, we show Jesus to the world. We name Him: Jesus, Do I name you in my actions? Jesus, is your name on my thoughts? Jesus, do I answer you, "Yes"?
I too am the servant of the Lord. Be it done to me According to the Word! In simple, uncluttered stillness We are. Mary is. Onward to Bethlehem Singing a new Song—"Yes"
