Bereavement Support Group
Wednesdays Beginning October 1st
A bereavement support group for anyone who is mourning the death of a loved one will begin meeting at St. Edward's the week of October 1st at 6:30 PM.
The group will meet for 8 consecutive weeks. If you are interested in attending, need more information, or know of someone

Christmas Gifts For Families In Need
Collecting Until 11/30
The season of giving is upon us! Each year, our parish family comes together to help local families who are struggling during the holidays. Through your generosity, we’re able to bring the light of Christ into homes that might otherwise go without.
All gifts should be returned to the parish by November 30 so that volunteers have time to sort and distribute them before Christmas.
Whether you sponsor an entire family, purchase one item, or offer a donation toward a gift card, your kindness makes a real difference. Together, we can share the true spirit of Christmas—hope, love, and joy—with our neighbors in need.
Travel-Sized Gifts For The Elderly
Collecting 10/4 - 11/14
Our first graders will be packing Personal Care bags for the elderly. These will be distributed through agencies around the area for Christmas.
We will be collecting new, unopened travel-sized personal care items from October 4th through November 14th.
We are in need of:
- Soap
- Shampoo/Conditioner
- Lotion
- Deodorant
- Toothpaste & Mouthwash
- Kleenex
- Chapstick
There will be bins in the atrium for these items. Please place the items in the appropriate bins. Thank you for your continued support!
Christmas Gifts For The Edlerly
Sign-Ups After Each Mass 11/1 & 11/2 - Collecting Until 11/16
We will be holding our annual Christmas Gifts for those in need residing in Saratoga County. Our sign-up will be after each Mass the weekend of 11/1 & 11/2. These gifts are distributed to several agencies to help lift the spirits of those who are truly alone this holiday season.
Please return unwrapped gifts no later than Sunday, 11/16. A wrapping party will be on Thursday, 11/20 at 9:30 AM in the social hall. If you have any questions, please call “Jingles” a.k.a Ann Wertalik at 518-469-9847. Thank you for your continued generosity!

We will be closed on Tuesday, November 11th in observance of Veteran's day. There WILL be daily Mass on this day.
During this difficult time in our nation, when so many families are struggling to make ends meet, our parish and local community has once again shown what it means to be the hands and heart of Christ.
Yesterday, the Town of Clifton Park officials, Phil Barrett & Mike Traider, delivered a car load of donated food from their food drive. This is on top of the generosity of this parish as we've seen an increase in donated food items.
Thank you to everyone who has donated, prepared, and distributed food to those in need. Your generosity, compassion, and willingness to serve have brought hope and comfort to many who are feeling the weight of the current crisis.
Through your kindness, we are reminded that even in times of uncertainty, love and faith endure. May God bless each of you for your selfless service and for the light you continue to shine in our community.

There will be an opening session/overview of OCIA, this Sunday, 10/12, immediately following the 11 AM Mass in classroom 3/5. All paperwork will be available for completion at this time.
OCIA, the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (formerly RCIA), is a Catholic Church process for adults to learn about and become part of the Catholic faith through study, prayer, community life, and the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation—Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. The process, which begins with the phase of inquiry and continues through spiritual growth, culminates in the sacraments received during the Easter Vigil. It serves both unbaptized adults and baptized Christians (Catholic or other faiths) seeking to receive the sacraments of the Church.

TRUNK-OR-TREAT!! We invite all children to join us on Sunday, 10/26 from 12 - 2 PM for some safe and fun trick-or-treating. Grown-ups, join in the fun by decorating a table and handing out candy in the social hall.
Can’t participate and still want to support trunk-or-treat? Donations of candy are greatly appreciated. Please drop donations off at the parish office.

This weekend, we join parishes across the country in celebrating Priesthood Sunday, a special day set aside to honor the priestly vocation and the dedicated men who serve our Church. Priesthood Sunday is an opportunity to reflect on the gift of the priesthood, to thank our priests for their faithful ministry, and to pray for them as they continue to guide us in faith.
At St. Edward’s, we are especially grateful for the leadership, compassion, and spiritual care of our priests, Fr. Dan, Fr. Jim, and Fr. Pat. Their presence at the altar, in the confessional, at our hospitals, and in our community reminds us that God continues to work through them in powerful ways.
Let us take time this week to offer our personal thanks, a kind note, or, most importantly, our prayers for our priests. May God bless them abundantly in their ministry, and may He continue to raise up new vocations to serve the Church for generations to come.

We give thanks for all who share the gift of faith with our parish family, especially our catechists who guide children, teens, and adults in growing closer to Christ. Children’s Liturgy Help Needed!
Do you enjoy working with children? We are looking for leaders and helpers for Children’s Liturgy of the Word at the 11:00 AM Mass. Training and all materials are provided, and the schedule is flexible. This is a wonderful way to share your faith and help children grow in their love for God.

St. Ed's Mental Health Ministry will be conducting a short, anonymous, voluntary mental health survey, starting this weekend! The survey and deposit box is available in the Atrium.
Once we compile the results into usable information, you will be informed of the results and
future focus of the Mental Health Ministry.

On this Patriot Day, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the courage of first responders and all who showed heroic love. As Catholics, we place our trust in Christ, the Prince of Peace, asking Him to bring healing, unity, and hope to our nation. May we honor their sacrifice by living as people of faith, compassion, and peace.

With the first days of Fall upon us we are reminded that there are many among us for whom securing a
good winter coat will be difficult. Please go through your closets to locate NEW OR GENTLY USED coats
and snow pants that are clean. Adult and children’s sizes are needed.
The Ladies of Charity, a Catholic Women’s organization, will be distributing them in October to families residing in Cohoes, Green Island, Waterford and Watervliet. You may leave coats in the collection boxes in the Atrium until Sunday, October 5th .

This is true! We sometimes get in the way of our own selves despite God giving us all the tools we need!
As we celebrate Labor Day, we are reminded of the Catholic teaching that work is more than just a means of earning a living, it is a way to participate in God’s ongoing creation. St. John Paul II taught that “work is a good thing for man, a good thing for his humanity, because through work man not only transforms nature, adapting it to his own needs, but he also achieves fulfillment as a human being.”
On this day, we pray for all workers and for fair wages, safe conditions, and respect for their dignity. We lift up those who are unemployed, underemployed, or burdened by unjust labor practices. And we remember that every job, no matter how humble, is a chance to serve others and give glory to God.
May St. Joseph the Worker, the patron saint of laborers, guide and protect all who labor in body, mind, and spirit.
